Endorsement Follows Lengthy Debate Between Primary Opponents
ROWLAND HEIGHTS, California - The Ed Chau for U.S. Congress campaign is very pleased to announce its endorsement by the OC Young Democrats.
The May 8, 2008 OCYD meeting was the forum for a debate covering Federal, State and local Orange County issues as Ed Chau and his Democratic primary opponent answered questions in a semi-formal debate-style format. The endorsement forum was moderated by OCYD Chair Jason Bensley.
At one point, Chau explained why the OCYD endorsement would mean a great deal to his campaign: "My campaign is managed by Young Dems from OC, and their energy and their creative ideas motivate and inspire me. I hope that more young people will come forward to help my campaign and gain experience for the Democratic Party." Chau later added: "In just 10 years, OCYD has generated talent such as Santa Ana Councilwoman Michele Martinez and Anaheim School Board member Jordan Brandman, not to mention rising stars such as Al Jabbar and Tim Steed. This is a very influential group of young people."
Following the debate, chartered members of OCYD voted to either endorse Chau, the opponent, or abstain. A threshold of at least 60% of the votes present was needed to secure the endorsement.
Ed Chau is a highly qualified Democratic candidate for Congress who will fight for ethics and integrity in the U.S. Congress. For more information, please visit his web site at www.EdChau.com
